Ok my MP3/4 player died about a day after I got it, a UXCell Full Metal Platinum 1.8 True 4GB. I was hving some problems connecting it to my PC to upload some songs and it frooze on the hour glass, so I safely removed it via the taskbar and turned it off via the switch. I waited a few seconds and turned it back on and it was stuck on a grey screen. Truned it off and back on again, still grey screen. I connected it to my PC and it would see it as a mass storage device, sees it as something else. I tried contacting UXCell, but all I could find was the comments and they responded to let it charge, so I left it on till it died and charged it, nothing still grey screen. Then I PMed UXCell here, he said he was outta the office so I should email
info@uxcell.com and I did and they repsonded promtly and told me to download the latest firmware from there site with a link they profided which I did and to use there software firmware upgrader, but the software won't see the MP3 player.
Anyone any tips, or how to recover a dead player?
Some additional information: I've ordered 3 FMP from UXCell; Pink FMP 1.8 4GB for my mom for her birthday, a Silver FMP 1.5 4GB for a friend who absolutly had to have silver and the Black FMP 1.8 4GB for myself that I'm talking about. The Pink 1.8 and Silver 1.5 arrived about a week before mine arrived so I had some time to play with them, I really liked how fast and responsive the FMP 1.8 was that I got for my mom so I was really looking forward to my Black 1.8. When it arrived I turned it on and noticed that it was considerably slower and the interface looked different. I checked and compared the firmware and noticed that the Pink one had 9.0.50 and mine was 9.0.48. I was disappointed, but knew I couldn't do anything about it. I did the memory hack removal and a low level format to see if it would speed it up a bit, no luck. Thats when I decided to but my music on it and this whole mess started. I already own a 2GB Glacier for about a month now and its still going strong (slow), just wanted something a little bigger because 10 eps (half hour eps) of a series take up about 1GB and with a movie on it theres not much room left.
