1-2 seconds pause between each file?
as in

sample1.jpg
(press next)
(wait 1-2 sec)
sample2.jpg
(press next)
(wait 1-2 sec)
sample3.jpg
(press next)
(wait 1-2 sec)
sample4.jpg
(press next)
(wait 1-2 sec)

if so i think my broken player is (was) a bit faster
