The "format error" message is generaly because of two reasons:
1. The memory is 'hacked'. This means it's configured changed to showe more memory than it has. So even though you can put like 6GB of data on it, it won't play it because the files are not 'phantom' copies and hasn't actually copied the files at all. It's sitting on a 'hacked' section of the memory so that can be why you get a "format error" because it actually can't read from that at all. Best to try to format your player to remove the hack.
2. The second reason is that the conversion setting is too HIGH. When you convert to an .AMV video, try changing it to "medium" quality setting instead. Or better, try downloading some of the samples fro our site and see if they play on your player. It's best to format and remove anything from your player first to rule out the possiblity of a memory hack that's causing this problem.
