high6ix , your player should be using the v3.5.35 or v3.5.37 firmwares which mostly do not support filename browsing, only folder browsing. Do not attempt to 'update' your firmware trying to gain the filename browsing, you will likely brick it instead.
Regarding random play, the player only supports random playback within a folder. It does not support random playback through the whole folder structure.
So basically, according to your listed setup, you can only random play within each album. But you can't random play through all the artists at once.
