Marcello , install MP3 Utilities, it should be in the CD that came with the player. Else, you can download it from the Downloads >> Tools section.
Next, start MP3 Utilities Disk Tools, see if it detects your player. If so, follow the steps here to format the player

If it does not detect your player, likely there would be a firmware problem.
The easiest solution would be to contact your seller for an exchange.
