Harlequin , likely your player does not physically have a radio chip, or the radio chip has been damaged.

The "Hard Error" just simply means Hardware Error, likely you can't do anything about it, except to ask your seller about it.

To open these gen2 players, you'll need to lift the white cover/sticker at the top, where the On/Off switch is. Once lifted off, you should be able to see a screw hidden below it. Unscrewing it would allow you to open the casing.
Take note, you might need to depress/rotate the keypad to allow the casing to open properly, or you risk damaging the circuit board inside.
