I have read the dead player recovery instructions, but don't know how to safely slide the circuit board out of the cover to reset the player. It is one of those nano like players (

I have already tried uninstalling USB drivers through device manager etc but XP will nolonger recognise the USB device properly and it remains stuck on the hour glass until the battery completely drains. I have not attempted to load any firmware and have not had the chance to try backing it up! Any suggestions welcomed.
