Default 4GB Widescreen MP4 Watch

I've recently purchased this watch: http://www.chinavasion.com/product_i...h-display-4gb/

It's pretty neat, it plays mp3, jpeg, mtv, txt, lyrics, has a few games, external speaker, etc. There are a few flaws howerver.

The watch has to be in the off position (out of all the media functions) to display the clock, and will only do so when you press a button. Also, the software used for converting to the mtv format sucks. (Pixelated, ugly colors, low frame rate, etc). I've tried playing other formats (mp4, amv) but it locks up with a white screen. I don't even know what resolution this watch natively supports.

The interface is a bit hard to get used to as well, the buttons don't always do what you epect them to do, but that's not a huge deal.

I've gotten the following info from my linux machine:

T: Bus=01 Lev=02 Prnt=02 Port=03 Cnt=02 Dev#= 17 Spd=480 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0402 ProdID=5661 Rev= 0.02
S: Manufacturer=ALi Corp.
S: Product=Audio Player
S: SerialNumber=00101000101410066633
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=500mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=08(stor.) Sub=06 Prot=50 Driver=usbfs
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 512 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 512 Ivl=0ms

So my question is, what can I do with this? How can I dump and modify the firmware? Is there any MTV converting software that will result in a good looking picture? Heck, I don't even know if this is the right forum to post these questions....

Edit: The sysinfo page says

FW: 02.05.12
CHIP:07

Not sure if that's helpful.
