Default My Wall charger

i was playing around with my mpx player (nano clone) the other day to realize something wierd was happening...

I would turn off my player (stand by, by holding down centre button down, and leaving the switch at the top 'on') and connect my usb (mini 5pin) to the bottom of player , then to the wall charger (without it being connected to a electrical lead) and the player would turn on saying CONNECTED and the light on the chargers LED light, lit up.... and the battery icon on the player appeared as charging (the bars [||} would be moving )

i then removed the cable from the charger and the screen would turn off.

Is it possible that when u connect ur charger to an electrical lead it charges the actual charger (like it has an in built battery in it or something??) so that u can charge it later, portably, without having to connect it to a lead??
