Forever in ADFU
I supposedly have an 8GB 1.5" MP4--- and it isn't any that I have seen on this site.
Monkeying around with it, I had it going pretty well, [I had it formatted and was able to make sure it was a real 8GB capacity --used it for a flash drive, and had entire movies going on it] and I left it on the computer overnight. [Didn't know you could overcharge a battery] So, did some research and tried everything suggested, and then did the last resort--try redoing the firmware.
Well, needless to say, my firmware is not to be found anywhere--so I tried something similar--- after following the shorting of the chip and using MPUtil 4.05 and upgrading--got a blue screen and died.
Then I did something really stupid. I tried the 1.8 version of the ACT_9.0.50
Now, even after deleting the driver in the device manager, switching USB ports, and everything else under the sun [and no, none of the connecting pins for the chip are squished together] everytime I plug in my totally dead player, it is recognized as an ADFU --- can't format or anything--and when attempting to reload the 1.5 version of the latest dump of Act_9.0.50--it'll start but then say version not recognized--.
1) How can I get this to revert to being recognized as a flash drive again?
2) Has anyone successfully been able to extract the firmware for this particular model:
LG MP3 Player
SCC91-002
CM60022
2007/01/12
ACT_V9.0.50
This model look like the "I-Platinum" -thin with mirror back with the "Menu" on top of the wheel instead of "M"
Inside, is the Hynixchip HY27UT084G2M {yes, I've read this is supposed to be a 1GB chip}
Any help would be appreciated--especially just getting it reverted out of the ADFU mode [if possible]
thanks
