Default Re: Need difinitive help on avi converter

Hi from RickyWoo,

I'm the guy who eventually found the write text code combination to add to the .ini file left on this forum by Grindathotte to add to the AVI Converter v4.0 programme to bring the audio back into sync on converted videos to play on my Sumvision Sempra Pro 4GB mp4 player.

Apparently this a very common problem with AVI Converter which affects a lot of mp4 players requiring this conversion programme to play on their Mp4- AVI players.

But like a lot of members I think it's also down to some other factors, either the player itself or the individuals computer setup your running which sometimes just does'nt agree with the present .ini file which can be downloaded from this site. Thats probably why some people have success with it and some don't, I was one of the unlucky one's who didnt.

So after posting a fresh enquiry about changing the text to the .ini file I got a reply message from Grindathotte (The Original Author) which was a BIG HELP, and I managed to sync the audio/video in the end.

For me, personally it took a couple of hours to work it out by converting the same 30 second sample video clip and applying different delay time codes to the .ini file. each time I converted it, I then replayed the clip to check to see if it was in sync on my Mp4 player. I eventually found that "0.2" was the correct delay code to add and correct the out of sync problem. For reference I'm using Windows XP home edition.

Grindathotte posted a new add in "Text Code" for the .ini file which can either increase or decrease the audio sync to play in time with the video part. This extra code can be found in my other post
AVIConverter.ini file posted by Grindathotte-Help !!

I've pasted a sample of the codeline in this post for all to see how it's done. Remember to add the new code to every line in the .ini file that applies to your player video size, mine was 224 x 176.

In the Converter.ini file, after "-ofps 20" and "-ofps 24" add the parameter " -delay -0.2 " (The value can be either positive or negative. You may have to adjust the figure up or down the scale to suit your own sync problem, it's a time consuming process to get it just right, but the result is great if you stick at it !!!! LOL...)

Example of first code line, complete all paragraphs, in this case from 1 to 10.

1-1-1=-ofps 20 -delay -0.2 -vf-add scale=224:176 -vf-add expand=224:176:-1:-1:1 -srate 44100 -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=350:max_bframes=0:quant_type=h263 -oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=128

I hope this information helps you...Good Luck from RickyWoo.
