No idea about how to rip a Rockchip FW from a player either, sorry.
If you are looking for more current FW versions: Onda makes Rockchip players as well, including the nice VX989. You can d/l firmwares for it up to ver 02.00.0019 here:

You will need updated versions of the flashing tools available on the Onda support site as well. Use Google to translate, the English website is not up to date.
