Yes Shortly after formatting from 8GB to 1GB about a day or so, the player gets stuck in hourglass mode. . . .

Did you say you had two of these players ??? If So you can use S1clone to make a copy of the working player, and then clone it to the not working player. . .Also. Could you please email me with that clone image ?
