Default Two AMV issues

Hello

I've read the guides on here, use virtualdub, have tried the various versions of AMV convertor and have pretty much sussed everything out my by myself But I have two little niggles.

1. When I convert a widescreen movie to AMV, either it cuts off most of the picture to one side or the other, OR it sqaushes it all up so it keeps the entire picture but the aspect ratio is warped to 4:3. (this depends which version of the convertor I use, I've tried a few)

I know I could crop the video to 4:3 first, but is there not a way to keep the video in it's original aspect?

2. Once on my mp3 player (Chinese nano copy - Veho 4gb, 1.8 inch screen) the videos stutter every couple of seconds. I'm 100% certain this is the conversion from 25 to 16 frames. I read the virtualdub guide on here which suggests changing the frame rate in there, but this only slows the video down and puts the audio out of sync. Is there a way to convert from 25 (or 30 or 24) down to 16 but keep the speed of the video and keep in sync??

Thanks for any help, and have a nice day
