Default did windows F*** my player ?

ok, i got a mp3/mp4 ipod clone, with action chipset.

it was supposed to b 8gb the fomat utility that come with the mp3 players cd recognises it at 4gb. so reformatted it as 4gb loaded songs onto it and turned the computer off, leaving ipod clone to charge via usb overnight (as usb is allways live)

in the morning turned comp on, and went to get ready 4 work, come back and blue screen disc check was up (u kno the one. it comes up during boot to check hdd's), checking the ipod cloen (H drive on mine)

was finding alot of errors, anyway cut a long story shirt, computer was re-set during this, as had to leave 4 work.

ipod clone seemed to work fine, plays all mp3s fine. went to use format utility again tonight to re-format (quicker than manually deleting everything)

i run disk format utility, it sees H drive, and still says 4gb, i click start, and then click yes. then i get error msg says "Not support this type disk!"

it wont format anymore (mp3 utilites 4.10)

i run windows format (it regognises player as 8gb still) i click format, it works.

player back to false 8gb

try to use mp3 utilities format and still wont do it ?

player works, can still transfer songs onto it up to 4gb (then get too full errors) songs play fine etc.

just cant get utilites to reformat to 4gb.

any ideas, did the wondows disk check utility at start up stuff the mem chip?
