The tearing is like what you see when you play a PC game and your FPS is much higher than your refresh rate on your monitor. If you move quickly you can see the image 'tear' as the frames are updating quicker than the monitor can display them
When I play the AMVs on my monitor I don't see this tearing. I suppose at 12fps my 100Hz monitor isn't going to have any problem. But once on the mp3 player, there is tearing (looks like the picture becomes three seperate vertical frames) when there is a lot of movement in the movie.
It isn't a great problem. I'm just one of those kind who like to iron out every niggle I can, if I can
