Danny, could you list the rest of the specs for the sample? In VLC I find them under information. Of particular note should be the type of audio and video codec, and the bitrates.
You may need to change the audio from mp3 to mp2, or you may need to change the video codec.
Also, my rockchip player came with an AMV converter. Not so helpful when you need AVI files, so check that as well ;-)
