I don't own that player but all I can say is that it would be better IMHO to buy a rockchip player for her. Rockchips are better quality and they can play .avi files directly. Colada is an Action chipset based player and therefore the videos must be converted to .amv before playing. I have the Glacier player and I must say it's quite a pain in the ass to convert the videos because it takes pretty much time. However the Colada features are cool, especially the 2 headphone sockets. Also, the display size is pretty important, at 2 inches i can't see big deal on my player. Rockchips usually are > 2.4 inches and they are much faster
