First of all, this isn't a firmware issue at all!!!
It's the headphone jack at fault. Try different headphones, try not plugging the headphones fully, bend the connectors properly and check the soldering, redo it too if necessary.
Whatever you do, don't upgrade the firmware. It won't fix it.
