That is very bad.
They should put the right firmware on the cd, then again maybe they put the wrong version of ConsumerUpdate on the CD and the Firmware is the right one.
There are about 5 different versions of ConsumerUpdate, the wrong version of ConsumerUpdate
can kill your player too, it happened to me.
All you can do is look on the internet for a rockchip player that has the same screen size as yours and try them all.
Does IQ sound have a website? try there for a download first.
If they make the screen go blank you can do this to get back into upgrade mode:-
1) Switch the player OFF using the main on/off switch.
2) Hold down the "MENU" or the "PLAY" button and keep it held down.(try the other buttons if these dont work)
3) Connect the usb to the player.
4) Wait for about 10 seconds before releasing the button.
5) You are now in "ROCK USB" upgrade mode!
6) Then just start ConsumerUpdate and upload the firmware.
