ericz123 , it all depends on what chipset your player is using. Usually it would be an Actions ATJ209* chipset, which at the moment there isin't many firmwares to try. Due to the fact that the firmware extraction tool does not support any version higher than v9.0.43, as most players uses the v9.0.48, v9.0.50, etc.
There are no substantial evidence yet that a real 8GB player exists, except for branded chinese players. Mostly are hacked 1-2GB chips or even lesser.
Considering a real 4GB chip costs about USD$25, so 8GB would mean a structure of 2x4GB, costing USD$50 just for the memory chips alone. So typically a real 8GB player would cost at least USD$70-80 to purchase. Which likely you have paid much lesser for it.
