Does this error happening when you are listening music or viewing photos on your player? If it does, then it sounds like either a memory hack is the cause of this or you need to run a check disk on your player. Have a look at this KB and follow it and see if that helps:
How to: Perform a scan disk and repair bad sectors.
Have you tried uploading some sample .avi files which you can download from this site and see if that runs ok without any errors?
