You can try this: Look at the top of the players... There must be a sliding switch there. Drag it to on. Then insert the cable in the player and then in the charger and plug it in. The player's screen should lit up and you will get a message of some sort... Here on my player it says charging. The indicator LED from the charger should be red if all goes well or green if not. If the LEd is green, you can try to plug the cable with the player in the USB connector of your PC and it should charge as well. Let me know if it works
