willycrook , it is very likely your player is not an original apple ipod. An ipod does not have radio built-in, you need an additional fm attachment.

Being so, that is why itunes would not recognise your player. Your player most likely would be a nano clone. Once you plug it into your computer, you won't need to install any drivers. A new drive would appear under "My Computer". To access the files, treat it like a usb removable drive, and just click and drag files to the player.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
