you mention 3 chips: Rockchip which is the processor. Etron Ttech which is the BIOS and Samsung 731 which is the Flash memory. Wolfson is a small chip black with letters WM on top, it could the the black square on top at the left. should look like this
. with a different number. On the right a little below of this is another black square which could be FM radio.
Anyway you have nothing to lose by trying a VX858LE. With the player already opened you can short-circuit Samsung 731 chip to recover your player.
