Default I brought my player back from the dead 3/4 load problem!!
I had the same problem after updating.. Loads to 3/4 and then NOTHING!

I did this:

Hold the menu button down, and then press reset while holding it. Then plug in USB and proceed with the rest of the instructions. Worked for Me!!
