Hi BLACKDRAGON,

To be quite honest with you, a lot of the PMP/MP4 player manufacturers don't tend to upgrade their firmware that much. I think it comes down to resources and money. These players are cheap and will cost more for the manufacturer if they spent time and money into improvements, new features then releasing a new firmware.

This is what I've noticed with my contacts with a number of MP4/PMP manufacturers. They would rather spend the money releasing a new player instead. I guess it makes sense as I would say they are in business to make money.

A large number of these 'close' down as well, but surprisingly enough, a large number of 'new' manufacturers open up again after months after......(?!)

So, I would recommend that you *NOT* try to upgrade the firmware on your player. Some people have tried other firmware and have had success with using another player's firmware in their player and got some new features. However, that's a very small number and look at the [Dead Players] section of the forum and you can see how many DEAD players there are from unsuccessful firmware upgrade.
