Default my player displays disk error, cant play music. radio plays.

guys pls help im having a hard time with the player my friend gave me on my birthday.

Doesnt work now when i access it. It says disk error when accessing amv and music. it displays 0 mb on the display on the player when its supposed to give 962mb. only radio works. is there a firmware or anything i can to make it useful again? im not familiar with the firmwares or anything related to it. thanks in advance.
