Yup absolutely misunderstood.What i mean is that if your player is in
ADFU mode you can't access it as a
REMOVABLE DRIVE.You can't
format it cause its still in
ADFU mode or
RECOVERY MODE.Only the
DEVICE MANAGER can see the
ADFU.But if you have flashed a compatible firmware and it works for your player it shoould be detected in the computer as a
REMOVABLE DRIVE,so thats the time you can

Yes you can use
Wire's tools the
s1fwx to extract firmware but only supports version
3.xx.xx firmwares and for v9 firmwares is still on development.
