Hi kenshinflyer,

You will have problems in Windows 98 if you haven't installed the correct drivers. If you get "write errors" then it might be a result of bad memory blocks on the memory chip or a case of a HACKED PLAYER (where the seller has hacked it to show more memory than it currently has installed physically).

You have a 9.1.52 version firmware which currently makes it very difficult to modify. The only tool available at the moment for modifying 9.x.x firmwares is the s1res tool which unfortunately won't detect all firmware versions and types.

Try downloading it from our [Downloads] --> [Tools] section on the left hand side menu bar to see if it works.
