Hey pooh bear,

I think you jumped the gun too quickly by trying to 'upgrade' the firmware in your player. You only need to look at the "Dead Players" section of this forum to see all the members who have had problems with their player by using an incompatible or wrong firmware.

Unfortunately, using the firmware from the CD doesn't mean that it is 100% compatible as a lot of the CD's are GENERIC, so the firmware on it may not be compatible with your player in this case, this is what has happened.

Unfortunately you will have to now go through the "Dead Player Recovery Guide" (link --> here) to try to get your player back to a recoverable state then find a suitable firmware for your player.

Also have a read of this post here --> S1 MP3 PLAYER firmware download site - s1fw.com. You need it to open your player and find the Board ID and chipset ID for your player to then find a compatible firmware for your player.
