Default Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...

When your player is dead you can use the "R" button on RK27DM.exe (Rockchip Device Manager) program just to get your player into rockUSB mode - (monitor this in remove hardware icon manager)
Click the image to open in full size.
Then you can use the Upgrade tool to install the firmware folders (no rkusb.tag needed)

download upgrade tool here:-
http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...v25-df881.html

Player needs to be in RockUsb mode to use this, remember to check this in remove hardware icon manager)
Click the image to open in full size.

So

1) If your player is dead and your firmware partition is damaged then connect it to usb.
2) Run RK27DM.exe and load in any RKW firmware.
3) If the R button is active (you are lucky success is guaranteed) just press it, (if no R button is active then install the rockusb27.sys driver)
4) Click YES on the 2 message boxes that come up and watch for the RockUsb icon (in remove hardware)
5) when its done close the RK27DM.exe program (still with the RockUSB icon active)
6) Run the upgrade tool you just downloaded.
7) Load firmware folders into upgrade tool.
8 ) Press the upgrade button and watch it do it's thing
9) When finished you just need to format the main 8GB memory in Fat 32

and you're Done! 8)

I used this method to recover my player yesterday when i corrupted the firmware by shutting the pc down with the player connected.. ops: It worked a treat for me, but remember it doesn't work if your firmware partition is good. but you can use teclast.sys or rkusb.tag on a good partition instead..
