So it plays for about 10 seconds then skips onto the next song? If that is the case, then it's because you have "Intro" mode set. Here's how to change it if you have intro mode set:
1. Play a song.
2. During playback, press the [M] or [Menu] button.
3. On the menu, choose an item called "Repeat" then press the [M] button again
4. There choose "normal" instead.
