If it still boots (like yours) you can slide the switch to ON, and hold it there, and then press the reset button with a paper clip or something else. It's inside the tiny hole next to the mini-usb connector.
Then you can launch the flash software and it should recognize the player. You may have to try a few times.
I advise to use chipgenius, that will show changes in the USB connections immediately. You can find it
here.
It should show up as "rockusb Device", not as "RockChip USB MP3 USB Device".
Do you have the firmware for your player on the CD that came with it ??? I would be very interested :lol:
