Default iVO-Sound m1050 can't read 2nd video file on micro SD card

I got a 8GB iVO-Sound m1050 from a local electronics store. As you can see from a picture of the 4GB version, it's one of these 3" OEM players, just rebranded by a sheet metal company in Fremont, California. [img=left:74f2cfa1c2]http://www.bayconsumer.com/Image/PMP/m1050.jpg[/img:74f2cfa1c2]

While I've been impressed by how it plays video, it's exhibiting a strange behavior when playing video files off a micro SD card.

When dealing with large video files (I haven't done a lot of testing, but I'll say files greater than 500MB), the first file put on the micro SD card plays just fine. But the second file and every other file following it always returns the "File Format Error!" message.

If the video files are smaller (shorter, but encoded exactly the same), all the files seem to play fine -- or at least the "File Format Error!" message seems far less common.

Interestingly enough, if the first big video file is deleted from the card, all the remaining video files still display the "File Format Error!" message. But if I format the card and put one of these files on the card first, they'll play just fine.

The cards I'm using are 2GB Crucial branded micro SD card made in Korea and a 2GB Kingston branded micro SD card made in Japan.

Is this a known error with the firmware or a bug in the SD card controller chipset? Or is this caused by an under performing micro SD card? Anybody else with one of these 3" MP4 players have similar issues with reading large AVI files off the micro SD card?

Any info would be much appreciated from other users of this style of OEM player.

Thank you.
