I'm afraid the buttons cannot be remapped.

The touchscreen's conductive strip might have become loose, in that case it's simply a matter of popping the thing open and securing the strip firmly in place on the PCB. But if the touchscreen itself broken you will need a new one. You can find the touch sensitive foil without having to buy an entirely new LCD, but for these players i don't think even that is worth buying.
