If you said it only plays MTV then that tells me it's an Actions chipset player. However the firmware version numbers you gave me isn't in the same format as Actions chipset firmware.
Do you still have the sample .MTV video still? If you do, can you upload it to the site so we can take a look at it? I wonder if it's the newer .MTV format instead?
If you can, do what lolita suggested and open your player's casing and post the board ID and plate numbers so for a better identification.
