1) SD cards bigger than 2 GB are SDHC. The player won't recognize them. There are some pseudo 4 GB ones, but they are non-standard and exhibit flaky behaviour in many devices.
2) The battery 3.7 volt is one cell, so it doesn't matter what sort it is as long as it fits. However, the internal charger is meant for the size battery that came with it. Putting a bigger one might cause charging issues. If a battery has a third wire it is connected to a thermistor which is meant to turn off charging if the battery gets warm. In this case, you can ignore it. If the battery is 2 or 3 cells you will blow up your player if you try to use it.
