Another question is, are you using the SAME USB cable to charge your player through the computer and wall?
I would try another USB cable just in case as well as it may be faulty and not charging properly.
In your player's main setting, is there a [setup] menu? In there, there should be an option for 'sleep' or 'power'. Check what those settings are and change them from one extreme to the other and see if that makes a differenc.e
