I had the same problem before using a mini sd card.
when i watch videos using the external card the video plays for a few seconds but suddenly stops.
But when I watch them on my pc or on my pmp internal memory they do play without errors.
My mini sd card is probably wack!

I had also encountered bad A/V synchronization while watching videos on my pmp using the internal memory..
I encountered the problem when I fastforward the video..
When i press PLAY the video and audio is out of sync(video works on my pc without A/V problem)

What I did was
press the BACKWARD button for a few seconds
and then PLAY
and then the FORWARD button again for a few seconds
and then PLAY.

after that the A/V was in sync..

And one more thing..
I split my movies into 2 or 4 pieces before watching them on my pmp..

You can face some errors only because of that.
Your absolutely right WIZARD..
thats why I've convert my videos to AVI not mp4..
So that I could use this AviFixed if ever..
never tried it though..
Yes, I think I'll have to split file in 4 pieces, otherwise it'll be no good.
I tried different video formats, bitrates (audio, video), but I was never satisfied with the results. Either I get terrible quality with A/V desync at later time, or better quality with A/V desync after 10-15 minutes and with choppy video.
And playback on PC is OK.
Also, playing from SD card or PMP has no differences. Actually, SD card is faster in transfers then PMP memory (768 kbyte/s vs. 512 kbyte/s).
I'll have to try your backward and forward trick.
Seems like this P(i)MP "machine" is intended more as a gaming (nes/gb/gbc) emulator than a real multimedia player.
