I email the person on mydigit.cn and so far still waiting for reply. I wanna ask how he backup the firmwares and modify them but one thing for sure. Modifying theme with this format is posible because of this link. I will create another account to download this and try it. After one day of buying this player i became addict and lack of sleep

I found this link on mydigit.cn that is very similar to my mp5 player. The photo shown in the first post is the same as my mp5. It quotes the firmware as "V1.3.0.11"; mine is 1.3.0.12.

I also found a reference to the JZ4725 data sheet, for those that want to know more about it's capabilities..

And finally I found a reference to JZ4725 USB tool, "JZ47xxv-USBbootTool V2.2-081011.rar", but I had no luck to find a download site.
I suspect this is needed to get to the hidden firmware partition Perhaps you will have better luck on downloading it..
A couple of questions for you about the firmware file that you used...
1. Was it a compressed file .HXF file? If so, do you have a program to de-compress the .HXF file to examine the firnware?
2. Was there any files (usb.cfg or other) related to the hidden firmware partition?
