Remember, you're using an Operating System that is over 10 years old from it's release date! Microsoft has also stopped supporting it as well as releasing updates for it. Is there any reason why you will never install XP? Vista I will understand but why XP? It's been around for quite some time now and has 3 service packs already.
Do you have a URL link of where you bought your player from? What about emailing the seller to find out exactly what file format your player plays? The PMP are slightly different to the MP4 chipods so they may need some specific settings, different to what the chipods have...... If you can email the seller that would give you some starting point otherwise you'll be at it for quite sometime.
