Many don't know but through raw sockets not only can a virus trash your system it can modify your bios, overclock/overvolt the cpu and burn it up. Do a serious reverse ping on the HD moving the splitting the boot sectors and moving half to the back end of the drive. There is no way to recover or reclaim any data lost from this. I will stick with outdated 98. I do use Ubantu also. I may have to try finding the converters for that maybe.
