TGS177SH00... ok, now we know the controller type.

Let's confirm the backlight connectivity. With the firmware which makes your player get detected as U disk installed, plug it in and run s1giveio v1.4 (download here: http://mympxplayer.org/s1giveio-df1004.html). It should detect your player and set it to ADFU mode.

Run the following commands:

o f0 24
o f3 4

Try each of the following commands one after another, and stop when your backlight turns on (post which one did it)

o ee 2
o ee 4
o f2 4
o f2 20
o f4 4

If it was either of the first 2, then the following command should turn it off:

o ee 0

For the second and third, this should turn it off:

o f2 0

...and for the fourth:

o f4 0

You can then exit s1giveio with the 'q' command.
