recently had this exact problem with an onda 787 player, no way at all to access the memory, i had to take the player apart and do a hard reset by shorting out the memory chips to get the PC to see it at all

the zero bytes things has been popping up a bit now and could be down to different manufacturer memory chips as we have seen it a few times

i dont know what your player is but if its unbranded then you are in trouble as you need the firmware to recover even using the hard reset method

can you give more details, it appears to be an anyka chip and that is a problem for firmware as i do not know of any tool or how the anyka systems work at all,

zero bytes is a problem that is found in may USB memory devices and i have to say, recovery is all but impossible
