EBay and PayPal Fraud etc
How about lists of Police agencies that have setup sites to report this type of crime to.
It's not just MP3/MP4 players. Flash Pen Drives for example are a multi billion dollar industry. There are quite a few people selling Chinese items which are known counterfeit Fakes built especially to act like and look like certain products but have no memory chips at all !!
PayPal, despite evidence supplied by an independent company (with photos of the chips, serial numbers and direct links to manufacturer of the internal chips) which left no doubt of fraud, just replied 'Sorry, can't help you' and nothing else.
EBay still keeps quiet about it with their policy of 'report it, but we will not tell you what we have done'.
Even the proper company that manufactures these items in the USA did not seem to care at all. All they did say was 'Yes, we know there are a lot of fake products being sold on EBay that look and are badged as ours.
Trade and Standards have told me on the telephone that we should 'Bin' these types of items as they and other agencies will not do anything about it. They even informed me that the complete Eastern section from Pakistan, to China, Hong Kong all down to Malaysia are regarded as suspect at best and at worst, should not be dealt with at all. Other countries like Nigeria, Uganda and so are also not to be dealt with. Then you have Ukrain and all that lot. All known by agencies all over the world.
We asked the local police who are just next door about the items in question, and they just said, not our job, sorry can't help. They did not even offer any information as to who would and how to contact them
It seems that No one cares as that money is circulating around in the economy which helps keep it going. Its all 'Lip service' and 'propaganda''.
As for PayPal and EBay (one and the same), knowing and allowing these activities to take place in their market place, surely they have a legal liability in law. In fact, can't they be held to book? The Countries in which they operate have laws to stop this, so why are they not doing anything about it?
EU should stop them from allowing outside companies from advertising with local markets outside their own countries and fine them each time it happens, that would make a dent in their profit margins.
If the 'will' is not there to do something about it from the countries themselves, then who is going to make a dent in this and other activities?
