The only thing I can see being a pain is if your chip doesn't get recognised and you'll have to open up your player and input the chip details. There has been incidences where the
actual chip numbers on the memory chip has been forged as well! Example: An 1GB memory chip hacked to show 8GB of memory and the model numbers forged to match those of a real 8GB memory chip. So if you get a hacked player where the seller has also forged the numbers on the memory chip and the application doesn't recognise the chip, if you go and input the forged model numbers when you open up your player, it will probably not fix/remove the hack.
