Default * Un-responsive / dead >?? mp3 player *

Hi. I have a LG mp3 player that is roughly 4 years old. Up until a couple of months ago it was fine,
Then I decided to upload a big file onto it, but I think I removed the system files before hand.

Well soon after unplugging it from my laptop, the screen says the same thing until the battery is dead.

”Rebuilding library please wait 00%”

This is the message I get. If I plug it in the pc/laptop then it never detects it.
And that message always stays on with no progress made.
My mp3 player is a touch screen model FM37

It has only one button and that is a rec button on the left hand side. It also has a tiny hole on
The top which is mic and also acts as a reset switch if I were to put a pin down in the hole.
it also has a sliding switch. it can slide left to hold or slide right to turn on and off. It has a usb mini d connector at the bottom with cover.

It’s been like this for ages, and in the last few days I’ve tried again to fix it.
I accidently some how managed to get my laptop to recognise the mp3 player in windows.
What i did was slide the switch to hold, put in a pin to reset and then pressed the rec button.
took pin out of mic hole, de-pressed mec button.

Windows found it but recognised it as a unknown device and it asked me for a driver. I selected for windows to use windows update but it couldn't find any. then tried to select the system32 folder which failed

Look on the guide on here about adfu device driver install, which i thought that’s what i needed. Downloaded mp3 player utilities 5.09 and 4.18 for the adfu driver. Installed them both and selected in device manager under the unknown device the adfuupdate.ini file. my laptop crashes each time I try and load that file on.
.
Found the software that came with my mp3 player and that didn’t help ether

As I understand it, shorting the pins on the device, would enable my device to
Be detected in adfu mode.
But I’m assuming that the combination of resetting whilst holding the rec button
Is doing the same thing.

I just don’t know what to do from here; I need some advice on what to try.

I know its a long post and I hope it all make sense lol I work night shifts so I’m typing this at work and I’m tired lol.

If this post is in the wrong section, please feel free to transfer it to where it belongs

Many thanks for reading and future help

nick.
