I have the 9.5.60 firmware, which s1fwx apparently could extract even though its not supposed to work with 9.x players. However, s1res also says 9.5.60 is incompatible with a 9.5.54 player if you try to install it.
BTW - I had a white screen on my unit, but USB flash disk access was working, and also I could get the unit to play music even with the white screen (though clicking the buttons blindly to get it into play mode wasn't easy!). If that's the circumstance your facing, try the battery disconnect trick that got my screen functioning again without a firmware update. See thread linked here:
