Same here. I paid my money for 4GB, but got 1GB.

I would actually consider settling for 2GB if e-britain would quickly give a decent refund, but 1GB?!?!?! And he has been slow in responding to my Dispute with him.

Hopefully when there are enough of us filing a Item Significantly Not As Described complaint, then we might stand a better chance of raising the awareness to eBay. In the mean time, do not leave feedback yet. Leave it to the LAST MOMENT and drop a negative feedback on them!!

STAY WELL AWAY FROM e-britain and his 1GB Players!! DO NOT BID, DO NOT BUY!!!

How can I test it to see if I have been dudded?
Can I do it by opening the back cover?

Can someone please give me directions on how I can do it without formating the whole thing? I am knew to this and I would appreciate any help I can get.

PKXXX check a few pages back and there is a description of how to check for the real capacity. You can either try filling it up and seeing where is gets corrputed, formatting it and seeing the real cap, or pop the back and check the chip model number against the manufacturer list. Use google to find that.

Just a follow up on ugoogle. His feedback is currently getting smashed right now and he has turned the feeback comments to private so unfortunately people can't see the warning messages.

Also, he's sending out unpaid item disputes for the rare individuals whom he has had to issue a refund.

I'll be thumping this one back as well.

Thanks Stoli40 for the heads up about the Unapid Item Disputes. I suppose I should exepct one to come my way at some point.

An update of my situation with e-britain:
e-britain has finally given me a response over the Dispute I opened. He says they are friendly, and asks me to email him and close the dispute. This is a bit laughable, don't you think? He says that they are a "friendly" company. If indeed they were "friendly", they would not have cheated me, and cheated any of you!

I am prepared to escalate this to a claim, and I have you guys as witnesses - any money I get back from e-britain I am donating to the running of mympxplayer.org.

Furthermore - I sincerely apologise for these embarrassing acts of certain people in Hong Kong and China. Not all vendors from/in Hong Kong are like this.

Strummin'Ronin, I think the reason they post an "Upaid Items Dispute" after a refund is because it is the only way to get their eBay commission fee back and it is a final swipe at the buyer who caught them out.

And you are right not all the HK and China vendors are crooks. It is a shame that the scammers make buying a player like Russian Roulette.

Thanks tadad1- looks like we are getting somewhere:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/fvf-abuse.html

Can't deny that fighting these douchbags legally like we are doing now can be dangerous tho... I must admit I am scared of whatever organised crime people that are involved with these scams.

Unpaid Item/Final Value Fee Credit Abuse

eBay policy does not permit members to abuse the Unpaid Item process. Sellers may not file for a Final Value Fee credit on a transaction where the buyer paid for the item.

If a seller filed for a credit on a transaction that was completed, please contact us so we can investigate the situation.

Sellers who falsely report Unpaid Items may be subject to a range of actions, including:

*Reversal of all credits for the time period in question
*Listing cancellation
*Limits on account privileges
*Account suspension
*Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
*Loss of PowerSeller status

Some Examples
*A buyer sends full payment to the seller and receives the item(s) from the seller. The seller still files an Unpaid Item dispute.
*A non-selling seller files an Unpaid Item dispute.

Additional Information
Buyer Protection
If you paid for the item but did not receive it, we encourage you to communicate directly with your seller and/or payment service provider to track the payment and resolve the problem. Please review the eBay Item Not Received process for more information about resolving the situation.
Non-selling Seller Policy
We understand that on rare occasion a seller cannot fulfill a selling obligation. However, eBay policy does not permit sellers to refuse payment at the end of a successful transaction. If your seller refused to complete the transaction in violation of this policy, please contact us through our Non-Selling Seller page so we can investigate the situation.
Why does eBay have this policy?
eBay provides an online Unpaid Item process through which the buyer and seller can communicate with each other to resolve Unpaid Item disputes. This policy does not permit claiming credits for Final Value Fees on transactions that were completed successfully.

What i would suggest to those who received an unpaid item strike after a refund, to file a complaint with eBay.

It is under the eBay policy to remove the strike filed by sellers if you can provide proof of payments, email communications (eg refund), etc.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/appeal-upi.html

Don't let the sellers get away with it. Your accounts might also be suspended if you receive too many strikes.

I've emailed ebay and about the situation and they basically said there isn't anything they can do until the actual strike is given.

However getting it removed shouldn't be a problem as proof of payment and even the refund will be on your PayPal record. So I'm not that worried about it, I just don't want him getting any selling fees back.

Also, I tried emailing him direct to send a rocket up the appropriate orifice but it got batted back as no longer registered. Looks like he might be running for the hills.

If he does reappear under a new name and someone picks up on it, please let everyone know.
